Possible Causes

Root causes behind this error

• Temperature sensor (RTD probe) has failed or become defective • Loose or disconnected wiring harness at the sensor connection • Corrosion or damage to sensor terminals inside the oven cavity • Damaged oven control board unable to read sensor signals • Faulty thermal sensor connection due to oven vibration or age • Power supply fluctuations affecting sensor communication (120V/240V line issues) • Food debris or moisture interfering with sensor contacts • Manufacturing defect in the RTD probe (common within first 1-3 years of use)

Safety Checks You Can Do

Steps you can try at home safely

• Verify the oven's circuit breaker is in the ON position and has not tripped; reset if necessary • Ensure the oven door is fully closed and latched securely • Confirm the wall outlet or hardwired connection is receiving proper 240V power (use a voltage tester if available) • Check that all control panel settings are correct and no buttons are stuck • Allow the oven to cool completely for at least 30 minutes before attempting to use again • Perform a hard reset: Turn off the circuit breaker serving the oven for 60 seconds, then turn it back ON • Wait 5 minutes after reset and attempt to preheat the oven to 350°F to see if error clears • Check inside the oven cavity for any visible food debris, grease buildup, or damage near the temperature sensor probe • If error persists after reset and all checks are complete, discontinue use and contact KitchenAid customer service or a certified technician
